Generally speaking, there are special equipment for mud mixing. This mud mixing equipment is the crucial parts of the mud circulation system, including: mud mixer, mixing tank, jet mixer, sand pump, etc. The final integrated system of these mixing equipment is called mud mixing system or drilling fluid mixing system. The mud mixing system is customized, and each drilling condition is different, and the mixing requirements are also different.

In the field of oilfield drilling solids control, the mud mixing system generally consists of a large number of mixing tank agitators. Because the drilling circulation system requires a large amount of mud to meet the drilling needs, the oilfield drilling fluid mixing system has a relatively large volume. The scale of the non-excavation directional drilling mud circulation system is much smaller than that of the oilfield drilling solids control, so the composition of the mixing equipment and system is relatively simple, with less tanks and smaller volume.

Mud mixing requires the addition of chemical agents to the jet mixer, which is fully stirred and mixed in the mixing tank with a stirrer to reach the specific gravity of the mud required for drilling. The well-mixed mud requires a sand pump to transport the mud. The parts of mixing equipment work together to achieve the ultimate goal of mud circulation.
