Work Principle of Centrifugal Pumps

Centrifugal pump is the power source of desander, desilter, etc. in drilling fluid solids control equipment. In addition, it can also be used as a grouting pump for auxiliary grouting by a mud pump, a replenishment pump at the well, and transfer pump for drilling fluid between drilling fluid and mud tanks.
The suction and discharge process of the centrifugal pump works through the high-speed rotation of the impeller, and the drilling fluid is thrown to the pump casing and the outlet due to the centrifugal action, thereby removing the solid particles containing solid particles. The drilling fluid is injected into the cyclone at a certain pressure.
Because the drilling fluid is a suspension containing a large number of solid particles and various chemical additives, the impeller and pump casing of the centrifugal pump are required to conform to the flow system composed of two-phase flow (two-phase substances (at least one phase is fluid), with great wear and corrosion) movement law in order to reduce wear and prevent corrosion. The working environment of the centrifugal pump is extremely harsh, and a large amount of sand-containing liquid is pumped for a long time, so the tightness of the shaft end is required to be very reliable.
Because the drilling fluid is abrasive and corrosive, the inside of the pump body is often damaged, so it is required to effectively block the solid phase particles falling between the front and rear plates of the impeller. Another very important issue is that the flow and head of the centrifugal pump should be properly matched with the hydrocyclone, otherwise, the hydrocyclone will not work.
